Your bathroom is the room you are sure to visit many times a day. Most of us just get in and get out. First, pick a color scheme that says “Who you Are”. With so many different styles, colors and accessories, it’s easy to get confused. I like to think of my bathroom as a work of art.

Accessories, such as cups, toothbrush holders and soap dishes do not always have to be standard. One can always use a uniquely designed glass for your toothbrushes. Pump soap containers are always highly recommended because they leave fewer residues.

Be creative in the floor coverings, such as the bathroom mats. Instead of just throwing a towel on the floor when you step out of the shower, use a soft rug that feels good on the bottom of your feet.

Keep in mind, when designing your bathroom with accessories, that this is your own personal space. More than one shower curtain to change out is always recommended. Keep the towels basic to match and pull out the colors of the curtain that are most pleasing to your eye. Rugs can be versatile and vary in shapes and sizes. Find the ones that best fit your needs in the room, whether it’s at the sink, shower or other places we spend our time. Add pottery, pictures and candles to your bathroom to give it that personal touch.

Ceramic, glass or granite adds that extra touch. You can always purchase single pieces of 4 inch square tiles to place around your vanity throwing in a little splash of color. These small pieces of tile are used much like a place mat. Set your soap, cups, plants, toothbrushes on the tile. When you need to clean, or reuse, simply wash them, they bounce back like new.

Your bathroom should be a room that you love not tolerate. To get that you have to take the time and think about what you really want and what you like about your decor and theme. Bathroom themes are as many as there are people.

Towel holders; there are so many to choose from in style and design. Manufacturers have now created heated towel holders, so when you do step out of that shower, you have a warm towel.

Hand towels, never can have enough of them. Again, stick to the theme of your bathroom, Browns/Beige with a touch of Red and Gold. Or Yellow, blues and lavender.
