Choosing A Great Bathroom Vanity
If you are looking at doing a complete bathroom redesign, you’ll discover that it is often best to take it one step at a time. One of the most important steps that you can take, however, is making a decision on your bath vanity. This is one of the biggest focal points of your bathroom, and you’ll find that when you are looking at making sure that you can get the right kind of bath vanity that there are a number of considerations to keep in mind.
The first thing that you need to think about when you are going to get a bath vanity is that you need to make sure that you have the right measurements. This is definitely one of those situations where you are going to be better safe than sorry, and as you go, think about who is going to be using your bathroom. Is it going to be children or is it going to be adults?. This can tell you how tall your bath vanity needs to be, and you will also find that it will narrow your choice down for you. This is definitely a situation where you want to measure twice and cut once, so don’t take chances!
Consider the style that you are interested in when it comes to buying a bath vanity. Remember that when it comes to style that you will largely be working with either a framed or frameless setting, and that either one is a great way to get your needs taken care of. To start off with, framed varieties are boxlike, and look a lot like kitchen cabinets. They don’t need to be against a wall on either side. European vanities, also known as frameless vanities on the other hand, are installed much closer to the wall, and the doors are hung directly onto the bathroom vanity cabinets themselves. When looking at frameless vanities, remember to leave enough space for the door to open!
You will also need to consider what material your bath vanity is going to be made out of. The substance that you choose has to be able to stand up to very warm and humid temperatures and you’ll want to choose things that won’t warp over time. Make sure that the materials that you choose to work with are sealed. If you use particle board in the interior shelving, look for pieces that are thick enough to resist bowing. For example, choosing ceramic tile means that you have a substance that is great in humid temperatures and that it can be a great do it yourself project, though you need to worry about the grout getting stained and doing what you need to do to clean it.
Finally, also think about what sort of features that you want your bath vanity to have. Make sure that you have a good frame for your mirror and if you don’t want to have to bend over and kneel, consider getting some great tilt-down drawers. What do you think of the lighting in your bathroom? Finding soft bright lights to see everything is a great idea.
When you want to install a bath vanity, there is lots to think about, but simply by keeping the above tips in mind, you’ll be able to move ahead very quickly!
