Getting a Full Size Loft Bed

Loft beds have always reminded me of my college days. During that time I was crammed in a small room, living with a few other students. But if you really look at the advantages of owning a full size loft bed, you may end up wanting to have one in your own home. With a loft bed in place, you can create a study area or a small home office no matter how small your apartment is. It’s not difficult to think of ways to use the space under the bed. A full size loft bed is also great to have around if you need to furnish a small cabin.

If you just bought a studio type apartment in a bustling city and you expect to collect more clothes as the years go by, you can invest in a loft bed. With so little space available to you, a loft bed will free up enough space for your desktop PC, a shelf and even a small dresser.

Loft beds come in many forms and sizes. Choose from a wide variety of designs. You can even get materials for building your own .

To make life simpler for you, narrow down your search to twin or full size loft bed. Full size loft beds are approximately 15 inches wider than twin sizes, but the extra inches make for a more comfortable sleep because there’s more room for one person. Personally, I would go for the full size loft bed right off the bat because I need the extra inches for more pillow space. In case you don’t know, full size beds are also known as double beds.

Basically, loft beds can be made up of a metal frame or wood frame and a sturdy mattress. The type of frame that’s best suited for your room depends on your budget and your room’s decor. Wooden frames also have different categories. If you’re creating your own bunk bed, you can use soft wood like pine; otherwise, get cherry or oak.

You can also order a custom made loft bed if the person sleeping in it is too bulky for the commonly sold ones. If your daughter or son is big, you may have to make allowances in terms of the length of the bed and enhancements in the supportive frame.

If you’re buying a loft bed, always look for extras, such as built-in computer desk, a chest of drawers and book shelves. Take note that the price for loft beds increase with each additional feature, but if you dislike buying more furniture pieces, these bonus features may be worth it . Don’t forget to ask the retailer if the price includes assembly. Most loft beds arrive in boxes to be assembled later inside the room.
