How to Transform Your Outdoor Space for Almost Nothing

More than any other season, summer is the best time to loosen up outside and enjoy the mild evenings that are a relief from the day’s heat. Gatherings are even more of a relief in the chill of the evening hours. It’s a time for everyone to enjoy some time together laughing and having fun. There are creative ideas to turn your patio into a great entertainment area without spending too much money. Here are some suggestions to help you get the most out of the summer evenings to come.

Get everything cleaned and organized. Space is the focus here, so take the time to rummage through the clutter that’s scattered in your yard. A cabinet with doors, a tool rack, or a large storage bin are all great ways to cover the rest and keep what you need close at hand. Once the yard has been cleared and you have additional square footage, get out the electric mower, cut the grass and edge it to create a neat and tidy palette for your surroundings. A trimmed yard gives the illusion of tidiness and order and is vital to any party spot.

Now that the outside area is well-organized, decide where everyone will sit. If you don’t have patio furniture, consider purchasing some at a rummage sale or discount vendor and making it look like new by adding some new pillows and repainting with some rust-repelling spray paint. You can get much more value for your money of furniture for a small investment and then make it look just like new. If you don’t have a cover in your yard, consider buying or renting a garden gazebo to provide shade for your guests. They are like an extra room and have paneled doors that easily open up and make for an inviting area to sit. They can also serve to keep the flying insects out if you choose to serve the refreshments inside the garden gazebo.

One of the best aspects of parties are the refreshments. Lemonade with strawberry puree ice cubes is a great way to add a flavorful twist to plain lemonade. You can also freeze flavored fruit drinks into cubes and serve it with ice-cold fruit-flavored soda for a tart and tangy variation!

As the night comes in, the mosquitoes and moths come out, so consider buying the best bug zapper you can find to enjoy more time after the sun goes down. They can really take care of the problem of biting bugs and make a better outdoor environment for you and your guests. Furthermore, if you don’t have one already, you can buy an implement to keep a fire going outside for under $150 from a local discount store. Search online for classified ads by individuals wanting to sell their outdoor items in good condition, because of moving or redecorating. This is a great way to get patio items at a huge discount than if you’d bought it at a retail store. For added pizzazz, try stringing some lights outside to make your party even better!
