Selecting And Purchasing Hotel Furniture
If you’re new to the business owning your own hotel can be nerve racking.
One of the best ways to attract business is to make your hotel unique, offering an excellent experience along with great service.
Boutique hotels are so popular because they are a unique experience, focusing on interior design and excitement.
Your hotel needs to have a theme to be memorable. If you have a large hotel then use a single interesting theme and choose a different theme for each room if you own a small exclusive hotel. Set yourself apart from the competition by choosing an unusual design.
When you have decided on your theme you can then start to source your furniture. You can get some great deals at local auction houses, but a wholesaler might be better if you require a larger amount of furniture.
Have a look at the furniture in person before buying the furniture straight from a brochure or website. Check they are a member of the BFM (British Furniture Manufacturer’s association) and make sure they are a reputable company before you buy.
The furniture you choose needs to be comfortable and practical whilst staying with your theme. An example is that a chair may be nice to look at but extremely uncomfortable to sit on.
You can customise pieces of furniture by choosing a variety of fabrics or using your own pre-sourced fabric. Choosing one particular furniture set and customising how it looks can save you money in the long run as choosing something which is wholly unique is harder to replace than a set of furniture.
Lastly think about the spaces that the hotel furniture will fill. Don’t buy anything too big or bulky, as long as the furniture you choose is durable and will withstand use from your many customers!
