At the year 1928, A Swiss-French modernist architect Le Corbusier work in partnership with French designer Perriand in creating some furniture creations that included the features of contemporary architecture. The Le Corbusier No. 2 Petite Lounge Sofa is one of them. Believed by several to be thetopmost of Le Corbusier’s discovery in furniture design, the Le Corbusier LC2 Petite Lounge Sofa was along with the early model of new furniture and moved furniture designs that reached it.

Portion of the LC2 Petite Lounge Collection, the Le Corbusier LC2 Petite Lounge Sofa is comprise of an outside chrome-plated tubular steel frame and polyurethane black leather cushions. The chair’s external frame exhibits Le Corbusier’s inspiration that conventional furniture creations is outdated, as accepted couch designs contained frames concealed under layers of padding and upholstery. The LC2 Sofa contributes this design with another Le Corbusier sofa, the LC3, which is founded on the Grand Comfort armchair creations. The Le Corbusier LC2 Petite Lounge Chair was first presented to the community in 1929through the Salon d’ Automne presentation in Paris under the Equipment for the Home instatement, and was then created in the 1930s by the Thonet and Embru furniture companies likewise. In 1964, the Milan-based designer furniture company Cassina obtained the honor from Le Corbusier to create the LC2 Sofa as well as some of his other designs. Today Cassina still stays as one of the leading manufacturers of the Petite Lounge Sofa, but reproductions of Le Corbusier’s everlasting creations from other manufacturers have nowadays become accessible too.
