The Necessity of Garden Shelter

Another way to add to your earnings is to cultivate plants in your yard and market them in garden fairs or utilize them on landscaping activities. Contingent on the place where your garden is situated, and the local weather, you have a choice of whether you would cultivate flowering or decorative plants. Disproportionate rain or extreme heat due to direct sunlight may be detrimental to the plants. You must have a garden shelter to decrease rain and sunshine without increasing your expenses.

Substitute for a Greenhouse

The perfect solution to this would be to make a greenhouse. However this is not a practical application to many starters. The alternative solution would be to make a garden shade using netting. This may not be as effective as a greenhouse, but it can reduce rain and sunlight to make it just enough for the plants to grow.

Here are the advantages of using the netting shade:

Diminish sunlight and screen away the rain - Some plants are partial to damp conditions instead of a heated one. To prevent it from being exposed directly to sunlight, the netting shelter will allow the right amount of shade for plants to develop. It lets enough sunlight for the plants to do photosynthesis. The netting also serves as a protection when there is heavy rain. When the netting is set up, the direct rain is arrested by the netting and only small droplets eventually hit the plants. An adequate period is then allowed for the plant to soak up water.

Protection from falling leaves and debris – another advantage that the netting will do is to catch the falling leaves in the garden. Usually, gardens will have trees around and these trees have leaves that will eventually fall. If these fallen leaves are not arrested, they will come down on the plants and become exposed to sunlight and rain. Subsequently, these leaves decompose and a potential exists for either plant destruction or attraction of pathogenic organisms to the healthy plants. Another advantage is the protection against falling branches. In tropical countries where coconuts are prevalent, the coconut often drops from the main palm and this is a potential plant killer when not caught by the netting. This holds true not only for the coconuts but for large trees as well. In the absence of the netting, large broken branches can squash your plants. With the netting, the falling branches are kept away from the plants you planted.

Gardening beginners may not have to pay out for a huge greenhouse. Due to the benefits mentioned above, a garden cover provided with netting can be just as effective as a greenhouse. The netting works as a shelter from extreme sunlight and too much rain and traps away leaves shed off from trees as well as hefty branches that may fall into the plants.
