Top Selling Your Home Advice

When you’re freshening up your property ready to put it onto the market, it makes sense to start outdoors, and work your way indoors.

The front entrance, and that includes the front door, the porch, and the close at hand windows, are the gateway from the outdoors to the inside.

Since there is likely to be a moment while the prospective buyers – or the realtor – knock on the door, or open it, there will be a moment where they stop right there in the entry, and will likely get a very close-up, very detailed first impressionof the property.

These are also a very important focal point when determining kerb appeal, so be certain that it is up to scratch. After all this is where the future owners, as well as their visitors will enter their new home. It will be critcal to both the eye and the heart.

The door itself has to look sharp. If necessary, a fresh coat of paint can make a major difference.

Make sure that the fittings and that includes the doorknob, hinges, latch etc are all newly polished or painted. It adds to the general appearance.

Other possible steps to add to the entryway might include a freshly painted/replaced mailbox, bright, functioning porch lights or a new welcome mat.

If there is a doorbell, double check that it is working or remove it altogether.

When the entrance enhancements have been completed, cast an eye over the overall building.

Are the windows clean?
Have all the gutters been cleaned?
Are corners and indents free of spider webs and vines?
Is the walkway clean enough that it has a defined edging, and doesn’t have any mud or other dirt sneaking over the sides?

Keep in mind, the aim for the best possible kerb charm is a neat, clean, well looked after feel.

All of these tasks can be easily taken care of in a few hours, and they will make a huge difference for selling a property.
